Job Description
As the Senior UI Designer, you will play a crucial role within our product team, specializing in crafting user interfaces that are both intuitive and visually compelling. Your primary focus will be transforming wireframes, supplied by our product team, into high-fidelity, mobile-first web UI designs. We are seeking an ideal candidate who is a UI design expert, capable of delivering exceptional designs that seamlessly align with our commitment to providing an aesthetically pleasing user experience across our web platforms.
You will be part of a team where you will work on:
- Transform wireframes, primarily created by the product team using Whimsical, into high-quality, polished UI designs, with a focus on web mobile interfaces before adapting for desktop.
- Independently conceptualize and implement UI improvements for projects where wireframes are not provided. This includes efficiently adapting existing pages or making minor UI adjustments based on written requirements or verbal directions.
- Utilize Sketch for designing, ensuring consistency and alignment with our existing workflows and design standards.
- Collaborate closely with the product team, participating in daily design discussions and iterative improvements to refine and evolve designs.
- Understand and complement the wireframes/requirements provided, contributing insights and expertise to enhance user experience, even in scenarios where the UX framework is not altered.
- Continuously iterate on designs based on feedback and project evolution, maintaining a high standard of design quality.
Requirements
Who Are You?
As a Senior UI Designer, you will need to have:
- At least 5 years of experience in technology companies, with a significant portion dedicated to web B2C projects. Experience in designing consumer-facing web applications is essential, demonstrating an ability to engage and retain a diverse consumer base through exceptional UI design.
- A compelling portfolio that includes examples of UI work, particularly for complex web user experiences within the B2C sector. The portfolio should demonstrate creative problem-solving in design, reflecting the candidate's ability to handle the specific challenges and demands of consumer-oriented projects.
- Proficiency in Sketch for design; familiarity with Whimsical as a tool used by the product team for creating wireframes.
- An understanding of UX principles to effectively complement the UX designs provided by the team.
- Excellent visual design skills with a focus on web mobile-first design approach.
- Ability to work independently yet collaboratively with a cross-functional team.
- Effective communication skills, especially in articulating design concepts and choices.
- Strong organizational skills, with an ability to deliver high-quality work within reasonable timeframes and appreciate short iteration cycles.
- Fluency in English
