Job Description
We are looking for a versatile technical writer who believes that good help content begins with understanding your audience, and seeing the product through the full customer journey. This means that we focus both on the words in the product (UX Writing) as well as the technical help documentation. In this role, you will research, write, and revise content to help new and existing users who want to automate their work using the Make platform, both in the product itself and for our help center.
The principal goal is to help our customers and partners learn how to use the product and make sure they get the most out of the variety of features that Make offers.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with designers, developers, product managers, customer support, and sales to identify customer needs related to UX writing and documentation.
- Research how platform features and apps work, then explain how to use them to customers.
- Write microcopy and text for the product interface.
- Continuously evaluate customer feedback and improve the clarity, accuracy, and completeness of the content.
- Contribute to and update a style guide and documentation standards to help the team maintain consistency and coherence in all written content.
- Proactively propose new topic ideas based on feedback and your own observations.
- Contribute improvements to the writing and publishing processes and tools.
Requirements:
- Relevant work experience in the area of technical writing, documentation writing
- Excellent language skills, evident fluency, and a solid understanding of English grammar and vocabulary.
- Demonstrated experience with writing in English
- Demonstrated ability to research a complex topic and explain it to a non-technical audience.
- Flexibility to write with different tone and voice based on content needs.
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback during reviews.
- Ability to conduct subject-matter interviews with stakeholders.
- Ability to take charge of your work end-to-end with minimal supervision.
- Aptitude for infusing a sense of playfulness and joy into the writing.
- Interest in programming concepts, automation, and computational logic is a plus.
- Experience with setting up and maintaining authoring and publishing tools is a plus.
