Job Description
As a Lead Product Designer on Canvas Core, your mission is to take point on enhancing the usability of Mural's foundational experiences. Collaborating with a diverse team of product and engineering leaders, you'll apply a lean approach to discover problems, ideate solutions, and design intuitive and delightful canvas experiences. Your contributions will impact not just Mural, but every single user we serve.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Discover, design, validate, and iterate with users on the core Mural experience for the canvas.
- Collaborate with a balanced discovery triad of product and engineering peers to not only solve user challenges, but to formulate product strategy and drive success.
- Partner with your engineers to help bring your designs to life.
- Champion and raise the bar for design and delivery through critique and review engagement.
- Conduct iterative improvements through lean research and experimentation.
- Advocate for diversity with consideration for inclusive and accessible product design.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Experience: 6-10+ years of experience as an individual contributor in UX/UI or product design with a focus on interaction and navigational design.
- Expertise: Demonstrative success as a designer, with work showing solid knowledge of design principles, problem discovery, ideation through validation, and shipping to learn.
- Passion: A deep empathy for solving the challenging problems of everyday enterprise teamwork at scale.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills to be the voice of the user, collaborate effectively with your peers, and to help influence product direction and decision-making.
- Approaches: Good taste in modern product design with the ability to find balance between utility and fun, all within a growing design system. Also, knowing when to think outside the box when needed.
- Inclusivity: Knowledge of inclusive design principles and accessibility. Mural is for everyone.
- Engagement: Ability to thrive in fast, ambitious and highly collaborative environments in a remote-first company.
- Communication: An understanding that feedback is a gift, and that proactive communication is priceless.

- A working proficiency in Spanish (not a requirement).
- Experience with Agile and Lean methodologies.
- Figma experience.
For roles based in New York City, California, Colorado, and Washington, the base salary for this role ranges from $144,000 - $180,000 + equity + benefits. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation.
