Job Description

As an early-stage company, we have successfully developed three web-based applications to address the needs of our clients. However, these applications lack a cohesive and user-friendly interface, hindering the overall user experience. To address this, we are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join our team on a short-term contract basis and lead the effort to unify our UI, establish common components, and enhance the usability of our dashboards.

Responsibilities

UI/UX Assessment

- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of our existing web applications, identifying areas for improvement in terms of both user interface and user experience.

- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to understand the functionality and objectives of each application.

Design Strategy

- Develop a cohesive design strategy to unify the UI across our web applications, ensuring consistency in branding, layout, and interaction patterns.

- Propose and implement common design components that can be reused across different sections of the applications.

Dashboard Enhancement

- Work closely with product managers to improve the usability of our dashboards, focusing on clarity, efficiency, and user satisfaction.

- Implement data visualization best practices to present complex information in an easily digestible format.

Prototyping and Testing

- Create mockups and prototypes to demonstrate proposed design solutions.

- Conduct usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs accordingly.

Design System Implementation

- Create a design system spec, including color scheme, spacing, typography, and reusable components.

- Document when to use those components and the interaction of each component.

- Ensure that the design system components are in Figma with tokens.

Collaboration with Product and Engineering Teams

- Work closely with the product team to use the design system to replicate the navigation and pages of the application and any future pages in the product plan.

- Collaborate with the engineering team to deliver the design system's reusable components and use them to replace the design of the application.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a UI/UX designer with a strong portfolio showcasing successful complex B2B/enterprise design projects.
  • Track record of tackling complex user problems and shaping them into powerful/simple outcomes independently.
  • Proficiency in design tools (including but not limited to Figma).
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate design decisions and rationale.

Crypto has had tremendous growth over the last several years. That growth comes with inevitable regulation. Regulation, in our view, is a good thing because once the industry passes through this phase, then crypto can access the rest of the world.

We believe itโ€™s going to be the companies that enable this transition from the pre-regulation to post-regulation industry and the companies that can properly navigate it, or better yet, be the ones that facilitate it - those are the most relevant companies in this next wave. Toku will be one of those companies.

Tokuโ€™s products enable crypto-native companies to compliantly compensate their teams in both fiat and tokens in over 100 teams globally. Tokuโ€™s growing list of customers includes Aragon, Astar, dYdX, Filecoin Foundation, Gitcoin, Gnosis, Hedera Hashgraph, Mina, Protocol Labs, Teller, Safe, Storyverse, and others.

Paying people with tokens is such an obvious first real-world use case of any token. It doesnโ€™t matter what the token does. All tokens can be used to compensate workers. And in fact, are! Toku ensures that all the worker compensation that all those tokens need to do can be done legally, and proper taxes paid is a critical part of the transition to a post-regulation crypto industry.

Toku raised $20 million from a consortium led by Blockchain Capital with Protocol Labs, GMJP, OrangeDAO, Orrick, Reverie, Quantstamp, Next Web Capital, and prominent angel investors including Protocol Labs founder Juan Benet and Alchemy co-founders Nikil Viswanathan and Joe Lau.
