You will be joining the design team behind the award winning app, Goodnotes, where you will get to work on a product with more than 20 million daily active users globally. As a team, we are at the forefront of innovation in educational technology, working on exciting features like using AI to enhance the learning experience. You will be working with a talented and diverse bunch of seasoned designers and researchers across the globe.
About the role:
As the Head of Design at Goodnotes, you will be leading a team of designers and UX researchers, facilitating and supporting design work across several product teams. You will be driving the design direction and level up the Goodnotes design language as a whole. You will be working closely with, and reporting directly to our CEO and Founder, Steven Chan.
This is the role for you, if youโre excited to work on the things listed below:
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of product designers and UX researchers
- Partner with management, engineers, and product managers to align on design initiative, define a rolling roadmap and long-term direction while ensuring a high bar of quality of the Goodnotes design language
- Manage designers across different product teams to align on priorities, support research, prototyping, and delivery
- Help foster our design culture with knowledge-sharing, peer support, leading weekly Design Review, and during informal hang-outs (we meet weekly for a โDesigner Alignerโ)
The skills you will need to be successful in the above:
- 10+ years experience working in a product design role for a B2C companies
- Significant experience managing a remote team in a scale-up environment
- Driven to help companies elevate design maturity
- A great storyteller comfortable explaining rationale and getting buy-in from stakeholders on product vision
- Designed public-facing apps that have gotten love letters from users
- A strong understanding and experience in product design from exploration to launch and beyond
